What media discovery or invention has made the greatest impact on society today?

The world before internet, the era is much more different from the new era. Those days, they were only using those old media cultures such as, newspaper, letters, magazines, books, etc to mediate message.
      In my opinion, I think that internet has made the greatest impact on the society today. I believe that internet hold the power of globally, even smart phones or any smart tech will not work perfectly without internet, just as internet has become part of our lives.
      I once saw a meme, stated: ‘without internet, just as I’m living in a desert island.’ Through this meme, I just laughed off and think seriously: it’s true that internet society has really made the greatest impact on our society.

     Internet society was formed by Vint Cerf and Bob Kahn in year 1992, they are the pioneers, “Father of the internet.” Its mission was to promote the open development, evolution, and use of the Internet for the benefit of all people throughout the world and mirrors the guiding principles that gave rise to and enabled the propagation of our era’s defining technology.
They also believed that ‘ internet is for everyone’, therefore internet has now developed throughout the worldwide.

     Especially after smarts phones start to be popular, internet become more convenience and more easily access. As smarts phones and computer, even smart technology, Ai, can easily access to internet, and make things work.
     It’s obviously internet has made the greatest impact on society, as we can see nowadays the young generations seemingly ‘cant live without internet’ . As internet change the media culture by using the combination of old media and new media together and form a new media culture. The media culture is now what we are practicing right now, for example: we rarely use message nowadays as we have tons of social media that can let us mediate our message easily with no expenses, only with the use of internet; Now we can easily search anything just with the accessing of internet, any information, any videos we can find; in addition, internet is so great and so important regarding to businesses and marketing. Internet makes businesses interact with the social, as consumers know what their businesses are about or doing online business. Through social media, the mediation of any information, advertising, news is much faster compare to the old media, so it can quickly become a hit in just a second with the power of internet, spreading like lightning. Internet can also has the impact in political, as any conspiracy or any scandal about the politicians or their parties, in any minutes or second might destroy their image.
